The Greendale Revitalization Initiative encompasses the commercial corridor of RT. 12, the Higgins Industrial Park, the former Greendale Mall, and 51 acres of newly acquired industrial land that the WBDC acquired to prepare for redevelopment into 1 million square feet of new manufacturing space. The 51 acres consists of 76 structures totaling 1.6m s.f. of buildings. Adjacent uses include a K-12 charter school, 2 separate rail lines, offices and manufacturing. ULI Boston/New England was contacted to conduct a technical assistance program to integrate the surrounding neighborhood by improving access to and through the site, examine the Rt. 12 corridor to improve the aesthetics of the corridor and to synthesize the utility of narrow parcels and uses in the area
