Under the direction of the Urban Land Institute Boston, The Riverfront Technical AssistancePanel (TAP) convened in Springfield, MA in August 2010, bringing together stakeholders, city and community leaders, and a panel of land use and development professionals for a day-long session focused on the City’s most underutilized natural asset: The Connecticut River riverfront.
Focusing on the stretch of riverfront that extendsfrom Spring eld’s Memorial Bridge in the
north to the South End Bridge in the south, over the course of the day, the team met with the City’s planning and development staff, and toured Riverfront Park and adjacent areas, before interviewing a dozen stakeholders and community leaders to understand the area and its dynamics.
