As Boston enjoys a surging reputation as a world-class city, it is struggling to create housing for a workforce, which is expected to grow by nearly 800,000 by the year 2030. According to our research, there is currently a significant shortage of homes to rent or own that are affordable for a family of four earning $75,000 or less a year.
If Metro Boston wants to build on its reputation of being a world-class city, the region must build housing to accommodate the growing workforce for the sake of equality and economic opportunity.
