David MacManus named UrbanPlan Co-Chair
David MacManus, Senior Vice President at Eastern Bank has been named UrbanPlan co-chair for ULI Boston/New England.
About the Position
The Director oversees all ULI Boston/New England’s local public-sector/community initiatives, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) work, special district council initiatives and national partnerships that support the goals and objectives of the District Council. The Director works closely with the Executive Director to build relationships with ULI Boston/New England members, District Council leadership, and public sector partners and community leaders. The Director is also leader for the organization and serves as the right-hand person to the Executive Director, helping to chart the strategic course and planning for the District Council.
While the many of efforts and projects will relate to housing and mobility initiatives, the Director must be willing to work broadly toward ULI’s mission, specifically in the priority areas of regional economic competitiveness. The Director should anticipate a return to an office environment in 2022 for at least some portion of the work week once it is safe to return to the office in person.

The Director position entails a combination of external relationship building, District Council project management, and policy analysis. The Director must demonstrate strong organizational skills, an interest in collaborative exchanges, strong facilitation skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. The Director should be familiar with the land use industry, including issues around housing, commercial development, and sustainability and resiliency. Additional requirements include:
