The Policy Committee works closely with the Director of Policy to guide the District Council on how ULI Boston can impact public policy to encourage smart growth development, with a focus on housing attainability and building decarbonization. Additionally, the group focuses on influencing regional transportation planning to meet current needs and support the future economic growth of Greater Boston.

The Program Oversight Committee (POC) functions as a clearinghouse for local programming with a dual goal of 1) creating programming content that is original, relevant and engaging for our membership and 2) where appropriate, helping Local Product Councils (LPCs) create programs that are more targeted, more in depth and specific to a more nuanced area of land use. This committee participates in all levels of event planning and execution.

The Real Estate Advisory Committee provides perspective, guidance and recommendations for local communities which are working to optimize their land use through Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs). TAPs are made up of ULI members including developers, architects, engineers, and other land use and real estate professionals. These groups, uniquely composed for each TAP, provide a tremendous opportunity for the communities and volunteers, who get exposed to situations and peer professionals who they would not likely meet otherwise. The TAPs offer a manageable commitment for the members, who are expected to contribute a few hours of preparation and one full workday.

The Climate Resiliency Committee is a working group for ULI members to take on projects and contribute to the field of climate resiliency. Its mission is to educate and motivate the Greater Boston-area real estate community (both private and public sector) on climate change and sea level rise with the ultimate goal to continue to impact policy in order to build more resilient communities.

Established in 2003, the Young Leaders Group brings together ULI members under 35 in a variety of programs, conferences, mentorship opportunities throughout the year. YLG fosters a unique setting for tomorrow’s real estate and land use leaders to engage and build networks, both professionally and socially, with more established professionals, while sharing best practices and developing thematic programming, events, technology, tools, and exchanges. Committee members plan and execute local programming and committee vacancies vary by District and National Council.
