Mitch Roschelle, Partner at PwC and co-publisher of the annual report, will share the findings and highlights of 2020 Emerging Trends in Real Estate. The report overview will be followed by a response panel of local real estate leaders.

Speakers
Julia Georgules is a Senior Vice President and the Director of Research for JLL’s New England region, based in Boston, Massachusetts. In her role, she is responsible for the development and implementation of best-in-class research programs that serve to advise the real estate strategies of JLL’s investor and occupier clients.
In addition to her responsibilities in Boston, Julia also oversees JLL’s research programs across the East Coast and Canada, working with markets in this region to deliver industry-leading research and insights.
Julia also co-leads JLL’s Technology Research Group, which authors national research publications focused on the technology industry and both its impact and opportunity within real estate markets in the United States.
A California native, Julia began her career with The Staubach Company in San Francisco in 2006. In 2008 The Staubach Company was acquired by JLL, at which time Julia moved to the research team, covering the San Francisco office market. Over the years her role grew and expanded to include management of the Northern California research program and co-leadership of JLL’s Technology Research Practice for the United States.
In 2014, Julia was promoted to Vice President and took on the role of Director of U.S. Office Research. During that time she was responsible for the national analysis and reporting of office market fundamentals and trends across the 50 U.S. office markets tracked by JLL as well as the study of office market dynamics impacting both investors and corporate occupiers.
In 2016, Julia relocated to Boston and assumed a new role as Director of Research responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of research programs in the Americas, later assuming her current role in Boston and within the East Coast and Canada.

Doug Poutasse
Managing Director, Head of Research and Strategy, BentallGreenOak
Doug Poutasse is Executive Vice President and Head of Strategy at Bentall Kennedy, with overall responsibility for directing the Canadian and U.S. research teams and serves as Co-Portfolio Manager of Bentall Kennedy U.S. Strategic Value Fund. He serves on Bentall Kennedy’s Group Management Committee, and U.S. Executive and Investment Committees.
Doug has over 30 years of experience as an economic analyst and forecaster. Prior to joining Bentall Kennedy in 2010, Doug served as the Executive Director of The National Council of Real Estate Investment Fiduciaries (NCREIF), and chaired the Real Estate Information Standards Board from 2007-2010. Prior to his work at NCREIF, Doug was the Chief Investment Strategist for AEW Capital Management, where he chaired the Investment Policy Group, was a standing member of the Investment Committee and oversaw AEW Research, the firm’s in-house research group. Prior to joining AEW in 1991, Doug was with F.W. Dodge, where he managed real estate and construction forecasting, and with DRI/McGraw-Hill as Manager of Metropolitan Forecasting.
Doug holds a BA from Harvard University. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA). In 2005, PREA awarded Doug the Graaskamp Award for his high-quality research in the area of institutional investment in real estate.

Kirk Sykes
Managing Director, Accordia Partners, LLC
Mr. Sykes is Managing DIrector of Accordia Partners, LLC, a Boston based real estate investment and
development company. Accordia executes large scale public-private real estate projects with a goal of
financial and socially responsible investing success.
Previously, Mr. Sykes was the head of an urban investment, development and redevelopment commercial
real estate equity fund for select institutional investors called Urban Strategy America Fund, L.P. The Fund w
a true “triple bottom-line fund” focusing on investment returns, economic development and environmental
sustainability. Mr. Sykes is responsible for the supervision of the partnership equity placement, the
identification of investments and the day-to-day business operations of the USA Fund.
Kirk Sykes combines his professional training and hands-on experience in the areas of finance, investment,
development, design and construction to create customized responses to the complex issues of urban real
estate development. His approach is grounded in the bottom-line driven perspective gained during his tenure
as Chairman of The Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, and other roles including Fleet Bank and BankBoston’s
Community Bank Advisory Boards and various other for-profit and non-profit board affiliations. Mr. Sykes
acts as an Advisor to Basis Investment Group, a commercial real estate debt investment platform, where he
provides strategic guidance and input on mezzanine debt and preferred equity investments in connection
with construction loans.
Mr. Sykes attended the Harvard University Business School, Owners and Presidents Management Program,
the MIT Center for Real Estate Development Commercial Development Executive Program and the L’Ecole
Polytechnique in Paris, France. He earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Cornell University.

Head of US East Coast & Latin America, Union Investment Real Estate GmbH
Tal Peri is the Head of U.S. East Coast & Latin America for Union Investment Real Estate in New York. He joined Germany’s largest open-ended real estate fund in 2010 and has sourced, underwritten, negotiated and closed $3.7 billion in acquisitions & dispositions.

Mitchell Roschelle
Visiting Research Fellow, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
Mitch is a Partner at PwC, and currently serves as one of the firm’s Business Development Leaders. He was a founder of PwC’s Real Estate Advisory practice, and has over 30 years of experience serving a wide array of real estate investors, foreign and domestic. Mitch is a widely-recognized commentator on real estate, housing, business trends, capital markets, the retail industry and the economy. He is a frequent public speaker, and a regular guest and on Fox Business Network, Bloomberg TV and Radio, and Yahoo Finance. He is the co-publisher of Emerging Trends in Real Estate, a widely-circualted global annual market forecast.
An active proponent of corporate social responsibility, Mitch serves as a trustee of the PwC Charitable Foundation, where he leads its grant-making efforts in youth education and financial literacy. Additionally, Mitch is a member of the Board of Directors of PENCIL.
He resides in Armonk, New York, with his wife Debbie and their teenage twin boys, and their golden retriever Charlie.
