    David Gillespie

    Vice President, AvalonBay Communities, Inc.

    David Gillespie, Vice President of Development for AvalonBay Communities in Boston, MA. David joined Avalon in 2007 and has led development activity on communities totaling over 3,000 apartment homes and $1 billion in capital investment, including three high-rise projects: Avalon Exeter, AVA Theater District and Avalon North Station. He also has a great deal of experience in suburban development throughout greater Boston including recent communities in Woburn, Sudbury, North Andover, Brighton and Marlborough. David holds a BS in Civil Engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from Columbia Business School.

    Brad Dumont

    Managing Director - Regional Head Northeast, EDENS

    As Managing Director, Brad Dumont leads the Northeast Region for EDENS and is responsible for overseeing the existing portfolio and for executing the strategic growth plan from New Jersey to Massachusetts. The Northeast region is comprised of approximately 30 assets and 4 million square feet of retail space in 5 different states. In his 18 year career at EDENS, Brad has completed more than $500 million in development transactions and secured more than one million SF of anchor retail partner leases. Most recently, he led the Woburn Mall transformation in Woburn, MA and the South Bay expansion project in Boston, MA. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Brad earned his Bachelor of Arts in Politics from Princeton University, and also completed additional executive education programs at Harvard Business School.

    Mark Vaughan

    Senior Partner , Riemer & Braunstein LLP

    Mark is experienced in all aspects of real estate transactions, with emphasis on real estate development, permitting, conveyancing, and leasing. He also focuses on land use and the environmental permit process for mixed use developments, office parks, retail complexes, hotels, senior assisted living housing, and multi-family housing. He has extensive experience with local zoning and subdivision matters, wetlands permitting, liquor licensing, state environmental permitting, MEPA, laws regulating access to state highways and municipal sewer and water systems, as well as laws pertaining to affordable (40B) and smart growth (40R) housing and historic preservation. Before becoming an attorney, Mark worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Land Use Planner in the Executive Office of Transportation and Construction. He worked closely with various state transportation agencies to address the effect on transportation of development projects being reviewed under the Massachusetts Environmental Protection Act (MEPA). Mark is a former member of the Stoneham Board of Selectmen and served as Chairman. In that capacity, he was active in the Massachusetts Municipal Association and was a member of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority Advisory Board. In addition, Mark is a former member of the Stoneham Conservation Commission.
