The Parcel 12 Project offers an important opportunity to repair a barren section of Massachusetts Avenue between Boylston Street and Newbury Street. It will knit together the neighborhoods of the Back Bay, the Fenway, and the South End by creating a dynamic mixed-use development that will activate the surrounding streets and transform the intersection of Boston’s iconic Newbury Street at Massachusetts Avenue. The centerpiece of the project is a multi-level civic space along Massachusetts Avenue that will be surrounded by active retail and restaurant uses, a state-of-the art 440,000 SF office tower and a hotel building. New applications of electric building systems will reduce consumption of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions significantly. The project will provide infrastructure improvements that enhance connectivity for pedestrians, bicyclists, bus and green line customers, and motorists alike.
