Opportunities and Challenges in China's Tier II
Cities
By Rong Ren, CEO of Harvest Capital Partners
China has a population of more than 1300 million people. It also has
more than 160 cities with populations of over one million. Among these
are the tier II cities, the ones that are growing and emerging as
important business locations: research and development hubs such as Xian
and Nanjing or high tech centers such as Wuhan and Dongguan or cities
that are receiving the benefit of government policies to promote their
growth such as Tianjin, Chongqing and Chengdu.
