The Box District in Chelsea wins 2014 Jack Kemp Housing Award

The Box District wins Kemp Award at ULI Fall Meeting

A strong public/private partnership including a local nonprofit developer, and a for-profit developer, and the city of Chelsea, Massachusetts, has produced 248 units and transformed a blighted ware-house district into a new mixed-income residential neighborhood. The redevelopment in a transit-rich area was one of the first produced under the commonwealth’s 2004 Smart Growth Zoning Overlay District Act, known as 40R. Click here to for more details

ULI Report Makes Waves

It has been a very exciting month at ULI Boston/New England. The Urban Implications of Living with Water report that was launched last month has definitely struck a chord and captured imaginations across Greater Boston and across the country.
